Traditional CONSTRUCTION

This course is designed as an introduction for students who wish to develop their knowledge and skills relating to traditional methods of construction. It can also be used as a prerequisite to other courses such as Building Maintenance thus combining old methods with modern alternatives.
The course content consists of lessons as below, lesson material including over 40 pages of construction illustrations for educational purposes, a reference book and four A3 drawings of a three bedroom detached house.

On completion of the course the student should have a broad knowledge of the various methods of traditional construction and be able to demonstrate the reasons for such a variety of alternatives.
The course may be commenced at any time and should be completed within 3 months (i.e.80 hours of study), depending on prior knowledge, although we allow 6 months. On completion a Premier School of Building diploma (single subject) will be awarded.
